Living on Campus and the Community Living Standards

The departments of Residence Life in Anchorage and Valdez have established specific standards and policies for students living in on-campus housing.  These policies are in place for the safety of our residential communities and to preserve the comfortable and inclusive living and learning environment we all play a role in creating.  For example, policies about noise are in place to prevent students from being disrupted while studying and to allow residents to maintain a healthy sleep schedule.  Other policies are in place for the safety of the members of our communities and our facilities, such as policies prohibiting fire hazards, certain weapons and vandalism.  Policies prohibiting forms of expression that create a hostile or intimidating environment and expectations for hosting guests in our buildings are in place to protect the quality of the residential experience.  It is the responsibility of each resident to read, comprehend and abide by these policies to ensure they are positive influences on the communities we seek to build.  Policies for living on each residential campus may be found here:
