The Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership prepares students to advance their leadership skills and career to the next level. They will develop skills that can improve decision-making, increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and improve organizational culture. This graduate certificate will appeal to professionals across all industry sectors vital to Alaska's economy. Honed leadership skills are crucial in all organizations, including banking, IT, engineering, energy, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, logistics, education, tourism, natural resources.
Admission Requirements
- Complete the Admission Requirements for Graduate Certificates.
- Complete the following College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) requirements:
- Undergraduate minimum GPA requirement for admission may be waived if an applicant has a graduate degree from an institutionally accredited institution or can provide documented evidence of leadership or a sustained record of accomplishment in their career.
- Each applicant must submit the following to the UAA Office of Admissions as part of their application materials:
- A resume, including the names and contact information of three references.
- A statement of goals: a 300-500 word statement about career goals and how the certificate relates to them.
Graduation Requirements
- Complete the General University Requirements for Graduate Certificates.
- Complete the curriculum requirements for the graduate certificate with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better.
- Students may apply one 400-level course toward this certificate. Special topics courses may be approved by the student's advisor.
- No more than one equivalent course (3 credits) can be transferred and apply toward this certificate.
