The Post-baccalaureate (PBCT) in Early Childhood Education prepares PK-3 licensed teachers and other learning professionals to work in the public school system. The program prepares candidates with an existing baccalaureate degree to work with young children from birth to eight years.
Licensure and/or Certification
This program is designed to meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in the State of Alaska. However, the program might not meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in other states. Admission Requirements
- Complete the Admission Requirements for Post-Baccalaureate Certificates.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 for the baccalaureate degree.
Graduation Requirements
- Complete the General University Requirements for Post-Baccalaureate Certificates.
- Complete the following major requirements with a minimum grade of C:
Satisfaction of all major requirements must be demonstrated through coursework completed either before or after the award of the student's first baccalaureate degree.

Students graduating with a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Early Childhood Education Pre-K - Third Grade will be able to:
